Porch Addition

Isch Residence

Vancouver, Washington

Jerrad and Caitlyn Isch enlisted my help to transform their existing enclosed back porch into a more usable and inviting space. The old porch was a cold, dank, and dark space with thin walls, old single-pane windows, and dark colors. It also had little usable space, since much of the floor area was taken up by stairs. In the new porch addition, we placed the stair outside the porch and moved it to be closer to the kitchen door. We closed off the redundant basement stair to create a new laundry area, and new skylights and light finishes made a bright, comfortable space accessing the back yard and patio. We also designed a new patio cover to shelter year-round outdoor activity.

“Don Titus was hired to design the final layout of our addition/laundry-room on the south side of our house. We have lots of windows to allow light in, as well as 2 skylights, which we love. He also designed a porch cover that frames our backyard BBQ area. Both turned out great!”
