Laundry Room Addition

Gray Residence

Gresham, Oregon

Ed and Nancy Gray lived in a very well-designed ranch-style house that they had made into a lovely home. But knowing that as they aged the basement laundry would present a problem, they contacted me to help them design a small laundry room addition to the main level of the home. Along with providing a new laundry area just off the kitchen, the addition houses a tiny half-bath and serves as a mudroom, with access to their deck, and the gardens on both sides of the addition. As an additional bonus, on a clear day, the southeast-facing windows have a direct view of Mt Hood. Ed says, "I now feel like I have the most profound laundry room in all of North America!"
